Now that the section of the path with the smaller details has been created, you can zoom out to 400% and create the curved top part of the head. After creating this part of Bender’s head, make a long straight line to complete the head path. Next make a selection of the path by holding down Ctrl and clicking the path in the path panel. Make a new layer and fill the selection with black.

Next, contract the selection (select > modify > contract) by 1 pixel, and then fill it with the color BDCDDE. Create a new path and then start to create the path outline for the eye casing.

Once you’ve created the path for the eye casing, make a selection using the path, create a new layer and then fill it with black.

As we did with the main layer of the head, contract the selection by 1 pixel and then fill it this time with D7E5F1. Create the path for the top half of inner part of the eye casing. Fill a selection of the path with black on a new layer and then duplicate it.

Now we’re going to create the actual eyes. So make a new path, then fill a selection of it using light yellow. Make a selection of the inner casing and then contract it by 1 pixel. Select the layer that has the eye casing on it from layers palette.

Delete the yellow shape that’s outside the inner casing of the eye. Create another path for hs right eye as shown.

Make a selection of the path and then fill it with the same light yellow. Next make some black pupils, using the elliptical marquee tool.
