Step 6.

Starting off with the content area, we should first make a large grey area in which we can put everything.
So make the selection, all of the width again and leaving 1 pixel at the top and 1 pixel at the bottom.

Smooth the selection by 5 pixels - (Select > Modify > Smooth)
Now fill the selection with a light grey, I used #e0e0e0. Click below for full size.

Step 7.

With the rectangular marquee tool, make a selection about 200×400 about 10 pixels in from the grey area.
Smooth the selection by 5 pixels again and fill it with white on a new layer.

Now add in your text.
For the links I used a green and blue from the template from various places, and a basic grey for normal text.

Now create another box the same height but all of the width except 20 pixels. Smooth it and again make a new layer and fill the selection with white.

Now add in text for the updates area aswell.

Now use the same method to add a footer. My footer was 40 pixels in height. Click below for full size.
