Again with the Burn Tool, with a much smaller brush do a little burning around the edges of the scroll. You can use a lower Exposure so not to kill it! :)

After burning it, it might look a little too red, so you can go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation or CTRL+U and use similar settings to mine:

Now we’ll add in some nice details and text.
Firstly, go to DeviantART or PhotoshopBrushes.com and download some nice grunge brushes.
After you’ve got some nice brushes, create a new layer then make a selection around the scroll layer (Hold CTRL and click layer thumbnail.)
On the new layer you made inside of the scroll selection, make a few grunge scratches or splodges.

Now change the layer mode for your grunge-brushing layer to either Color Burn or Overlay, lower the opacity if necesary.

Looks pretty nice!
Lastly, we’re going to add in the text.
First of all you need to find a nice font that sort of suits the theme, you can find some awesome fonts on DaFont.com.

The font I used above is called First Order and you can download it from here.
The font size I used above was 24 pt and the color was black (#000000.)
